The Suburban North Club follows the guidance of state and local governments regarding safety protocols in the wake of the Coronavirus. There are currently no active protocols in place that involve members and guests who visit the facility. Masks are recommended but not required. Visitors are encouraged to make use of the non-alcoholic hand sanitizer we have available on site. Additionally, our staff continues to practice cleaning protocols that have been in place since the beginning of the pandemic. Alcohol, illegal drugs, and any non-prescribed controlled substances are prohibited anywhere on the property. 2. All communication and treatment of others is to be respectful and safe. Hate speech, harassment, threats and verbal or physical altercations will not be tolerated and are grounds for being banned from the property. 3. To avoid disturbing meetings, noise levels need to be kept at respectful levels in the rooms, inside the building, and outside the building near windows and entrances. 4. Shirts and shoes are required at all times. 5. Smoking, vaping and/or use of tobacco chew and snuff anywhere inside or outside on the premises, except in the designated smoking area on the east-side covered patio. 6. Firearms and other weapons are not permitted anywhere on the property. 7. Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times. Children in the building, meeting rooms, or common areas must remain quiet and not disrupt activities. The Club does not provide childcare or play areas. 8. The warming kitchen is not for public use. Appliances can only be operated by our staff when they are needed for a specific event. 9. Pets are not permitted inside the facility. Trained service animals that assist a person with a disability and emotional support animals are welcome. Animal owners shall inform SNC staff when bringing an animal into the building. 10. The Club is intended for individuals actively participating in recovery activities. Sleeping, loitering, or remaining on the property without engaging in a meeting or approved activity is not permitted. 11. Club hours apply to all indoor and outdoor areas. Members and guests should conclude outdoor gatherings when the Club is closed to respect our neighbors. 12. Members and guests shall treat Club property with care. Damaging, defacing, or misusing equipment, furniture, or facilities is not permitted, and individuals may be held responsible for repair and replacement costs. Tampering with security or safety systems is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate and permanent removal. 13. All postings on the hallway bulletin boards must be approved by staff and are subject to approval by the SNC Chair of Aesthetics. Bulletin boards inside meeting rooms and restrooms are reserved for Club-related information only. Flyers or materials may not be posted anywhere else in the building or on the property. 14. No gambling games are permitted. 15. Members and guests are expected to follow staff directions. Refusal to comply may result in being asked to leave the property, and serious or repeated violations may lead to temporary or permanent loss of Club privileges. Violation of these rules can result in banishment from the Club. When we met with our mentors at Executive Volunteer Services, who assisted our board in drafting a three year plan for the SNC. The first thing they challenged us to do was to identify our vision and our mission for the club. We diligently walked through a process to create both. As we move forward as an organization, through the exciting days ahead, our board is committed to always keeping our vision and our mission clearly in front of us, helping to always guide our decision making. Our Vision is on our Home Page and is popping up all around the club. It's a simple but powerful few words... "Recovery for All who Seek It" Our Mission Statement expands in greater detail on that vision... "To change lives, through the power and promise of recovery by providing a safe environment to meet, socialize, support and recover together" We hope that all who enter the Suburban North Club will share in this mission. We currently receive grants from the Hamilton County Council on Alcohol and Other Drugs and a few anonymous family office and corporate donors. It's important to note that the majority of people who attend meetings at the club are not members of the club. You need not be a member of the SNC to attend recovery meetings at the SNC. All who wish to recover are always welcome and there is never a charge for attending meetings or social events.
